The mangroves of Sierpe and The Spheres
Explore one of the most important ecosystems in the world and learn about the pre-colombian heritage of Costa Rica
The indigenous tribes of Costa Rica had a very strong connection to the spherical shape.
Right next to the mangrove forest we'll visit an archeology museum that showcases indigenous artifacts and tells the history of the original inhabitants of the region while allowing for an educational walk among the once banana plantation and now home of an important archeological site.
We will then proceed to the mangrove tour portion, that thanks to our choice of limiting both group and boat size allows us to get deep into the narrow canals of the inner forest, providing an enriching dive into a little known but crucially important ecosystem in Costa Rica populated by crocodiles and birds and an insight on the way of life of the fishermen that still live by the water and rely on the conchs and fish, caught strictly by hand in these treacherous waters.
